Spokesperson of the Premier League club’s official website, Daniel Levy, has confirmed that Tottenham Hotspur will play their Champions League Group D fixtures away to Bayern Munich on Thursday.
Levy made the comments in a statement released on Tuesday, ahead of their trip to Germany, where Spurs face off against Bayern Munich in the Europa League round of 16.
“We have been working hard on this game in recent weeks, and we have the utmost respect for the Bayern Munich and the other teams in the group.
As we said in the summer, the game has to be played in the best possible conditions for both teams, which is why we have to do it at the most optimal time for both of them,” he said.”
The match will take place at 4:30pm GMT, which will be at a time when many people have not yet been able to get to their seats at the stadium, so we hope that fans will be able to come to the stadium to see it live.””
We will also have a good game against Barcelona at the Stadium of Light, which we hope will be a great match.”
Levy’s statement also said the Spurs fans in Germany will have access to “their favourite live online stream”.
The Bundesliga champions will have to beat second-placed Bayern Munich to progress, while Barcelona have secured a place in the quarter-finals after beating Bayern Munich 1-0 on aggregate on Wednesday.
Tottenham will travel to Germany on Thursday to face Bayer Leverkusen in the second leg of the Champions League quarter-final.
